On October 1, American Campus Communities (ACC) team members joined thousands of volunteers around the world for the sixth annual CoreGiving Day, coming together to help fight food insecurity and support children and families in the communities where we live and work.

As part of this year’s effort, ACC team members helped prepare 7,500 meals for children and families facing food insecurity, putting our commitment to serving our communities into action.

“CoreGiving Day is a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when we come together around a shared purpose,” said Rob Palleschi, CEO of American Campus Communities and Vice Chair of the CoreGiving Board. “I’m grateful to our ACC team members who gave their time and energy to help prepare 7,500 meals and support families in our communities. It’s an incredible example of our people living our values and making a meaningful difference together.”

ACC’s efforts were part of a much larger collective impact. This year, volunteers from Blackstone and 30 of its portfolio companies came together to support hunger-relief organizations in more than 100 cities across five continents. CoreGiving Day continues to expand its global reach, with new volunteer opportunities this year in Canada, Colombia and India.

The annual day of service supports CoreGiving’s mission to fight childhood hunger through volunteerism, grants and partnerships with hunger-relief organizations. Since its inception, CoreGiving has helped enable more than 100 million meals for children and families in need.

For the third consecutive year, the Blackstone Charitable Foundation is also providing a $250,000 grant to CoreGiving in support of its Global Fight Hunger campaign. Together with support from CoreGiving sponsors, the funding is expected to help provide more than 4 million additional meals through CoreGiving’s network of hunger-relief partners.

ACC is proud to stand alongside Blackstone and fellow portfolio companies in supporting CoreGiving’s mission and strengthening the communities we collectively serve.
